Once you receive your package, you are ready to start setting up your hardware and software for SoundSelf. Make sure to check all items are included in the package. The items are inside the bag and the RCA cable is in the back pocket of the bag.

You should have the following items:

  • Manual Guide
  • Pair of headphones with attached microphone
  • Pair of light therapy glasses
  • USB Hub
  • Kasina light therapy interface
  • USB charge port (to charge headphones)
  • USB dongle for your wireless headphones
  • USB-C cable (for charging the headphones)
  • USB mini cable (connect Kasina to your computer)
  • 2 Auxiliary to RCA cable (for Haptic systems)
  • White Auxiliary to Auxiliary cable (as a backup for Haptic systems)

If any of the above items are missing or damaged, please contact support@soundself.com.


Note: DO NOT install the Corsair iCue software.

Software Setup

Important Requirements

  • You will need a Mac or PC computer. Compatible with a minimum of 2019 Mac or PC.
  • Ensure your computer is connected to wifi. 
  • The software is 624MB. Make sure you have enough space on your computer.
  1. Download the software from https://soundself.com/download. The download should take about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Then, when the software is installed on your computer, launch SoundSelf by double-clicking on the soundself_pro icon.

At launch, you will see the screen below. Next, you need to set up your SoundSelf Hardware.

Hardware Setup

Important Requirements

  • You will need two USB-A ports. If your computer primarily uses USB-C, use the USB Hub.

Hardware Setup Step by Step

  1. Fully charge the headphones. Use the USB-C cable to the USB charge port. 

     

2. Connect the glasses and kasina to the correct port on the bottom of the kasina interface.

   

   

3. Connect the small USB dongle and Kasina to your USB computer or USB hub.

Your hardware setup should look something similar below.

4. Once you have all your hardware connected, power on your Kasina and headphones.

5. When turning on the headphones, the USB dongle will turn solid white. This indicates your headphones are successfully connected.

6. The Kasina screen mode is pre-set to "SpectraStr" or "AS/SpectraStr".

You're all set and ready to launch SoundSelf!

On Launch

  • The first session should be Story Mode.
  • Glasses will cycle between red, green, and blue immediately on launch.
  • Configure the sound and lights to the patient's comfort.
  • Configure the volume if needed. Adjust the volume of the wheel behind the left headphone.
  • The brightness buttons on the right side of the Kasina interface control the glass brightness.

Important Notes Before Starting SoundSelf

  • Do Not Use SoundSelf if the patient has Visual Epilepsy, the strobing lights can be harmful and can cause a seizure.  
  • Be mindful of feedback and environmental noise.
  • The microphone should be positioned as close to the patient's mouth as possible.
  • The SoundSelf audio should not play through the computer speakers.

Adjusting the LED Glasses (Important Step, adjust the LED lights down to 25%)

To adjust the LED lights on the glasses, you can turn it down to 25% on the side of the Kasina.
